Want glowing skin and cell-level hydration? Meet our favorite 3-ingredient summer tonic.
Want glowing skin and cell-level hydration? Meet our favorite hydrating, mineral-rich summer tonic that will have you glowing from within.
Just 3 ingredients, and it comes together in less than a minute.
The Ingredients
Aloe juice —
It’s deeply cooling, hydrating, and moistening. It contains polysaccharides that help your body actually retain moisture at a cellular level. It helps relieve inflammation (both internal and external) from excess heat. Because it’s so high in potassium and vitamin c, it’s amazing for your skin.
Look for organic pure inner leaf aloe juice — not the gel. We like the Lakewood organic brand.
Carrot juice —
A powerhouse of internal skincare. It’s rich in beta-carotene, which your body converts to vitamin A, one of the most important nutrients for skin cell repair and turnover. It also brings vitamins C and E, which support collagen and protect against environmental damage.
It also literally helps give you a sunkissed glow from the inside out — studies show that people who eat carotenoid-rich diets develop visibly warmer, more radiant skin over time.
If you can’t juice them yourself, look for organic, pure carrot juice. We like the Lakewood brand. Trader Joe’s also has a good one.
Coconut water —
Nature’s electrolyte drink. Rich in potassium, magnesium, and calcium, it hydrates you more deeply than water alone. In summer especially, your body is losing electrolytes constantly through sweat, and that shows up as dull, tired skin. It’s also rich in potassium, which supports collagen synthesis.
Look for an organic, pure coconut water. If it’s pink, that’s a sign it’s nice and fresh. We like the harmless harvest brand, though Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s also make good ones.
The Tonic
To make it, simply combine 1 part aloe juice with 2 parts carrot juice and 2 parts coconut water. For one serving, that would be roughly ¼ cup of aloe juice, ½ cup carrot juice, and ½ cup coconut water.
It’s best drunk in the morning on an empty stomach (preferably in the sun) 🌞
